Bring Our Loved Ones Back
Runtime: 5min. 15sec.
Synopsis: Back in the Vietnam War days Danny Cox achieved national recognition as a fine Kansas City musician protesting that senseless war. Now, it's "deja vu all over again". True to his spirit, Danny wrote a song titled Bring Our Loved Ones Back. From Iraq, naturally. About 3,000 young American soldiers have been killed so far in this insane Republican oil war, and somewhere between 25,000 and 50,000 wounded, many mutilated for life, never to walk or have the use of their limbs again; many no doubt wish they had died. Well over 50,000 Iraqis have been killed. For what? Bring our loved ones back from Iraq – today.
I F*cked Fr*d Ph*lps
Runtime: 13min. 22sec.
Synopsis: I F*cked Fr*d Ph*lps is about Neocon Republicans, not about Fr*d Ph*lps. Fr*d Ph*lps, in case you don't know, is the wacked out preacher who hates gays. He is the guy who pickets military funerals because there are some gays in the army. Anyone who teaches hatred to little children, which he does, is representative of true evil, in my book. So it's logical to think of him as a portal into the deepest, darkest depravity of all of humankind. It's a simple talking head rant. It's obscene as all hell, and if you're a Neocon Republican, Corporate Fundamentalist or Religious Fundamentalist, don't watch it. It was rated NC-17 by the Kansas City Jubilee Film Festival.
Bleak Future
Runtime: 49 sec.
Synopsis: Bleak Future was a quick web commercial done for the moveon.org competition a few years ago, just before the evil John Ashcroft passed his Constitution-burning torch to Gonzalez. It's a 30 second science fiction film showing a future society where you get arrested by Homeland Security for teaching true history. Hmm...reality is way too close for comfort these days.
